Statement of Faith
♦ That the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is man’s guidebook for life.
♦ That the Godhead is one, but manifests Himself in three persons, The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit, each being co-equal.
♦ That Jesus was miraculously born of Mary, a virgin, and was both God and Man.
♦ That Jesus lived a sinless life and fulfilled all the prophecies of the coming Messiah.
♦ That Jesus was crucified to save and redeem mankind and was resurrected bodily on the third day.
♦ That Man was made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. That Jesus saves all who repent and put their trust in Him.
♦ That the new birth is necessary for man to have eternal life with Christ.
♦ That water baptism in water is by immersion, and is a commandment of our Lord and is for believers only subsequent to the age of understanding and of receiving Christ as Savior.
♦ That the Holy Spirit effects regeneration and sanctification in the believer and empowers His people for Christian witness and service. While all genuine believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit at conversion, the New Testament also indicates the importance of an ongoing, empowering work of the Spirit subsequent to conversion. Being indwelt by the Spirit and being filled with (or baptized in) the Holy Spirit are theologically distinct experiences. The Holy Spirit desires to fill each believer continually with increased power for Christian life and witness, and imparts His supernatural gifts for the edification of the body and for various works of ministry in the world. All the gifts of the Holy Spirit at work in the church of the first century are available today. They are useful to the mission of the church and are to be earnestly desired and practiced. They are intended for the strengthening of God's people and are proof of God's existence and power to unbelievers. (Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 1 Peter 4:10; 1 Corinthians 14:22-25)
♦ We believe that Sanctification is definite and begins at the New Birth and must be progressive until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return.
♦ That our purpose in life is that we were created for God’s pleasure, to praise and worship Him and to work to bring others to know Him.
♦ We believe that healing is for the whole man, body, soul, and spirit. This is brought about by the power of God through the prayer of faith and/or by the laying on of hands.
♦ That the just will be resurrected and that the Lord will return for His bride the church.
♦ That hell is very real.
♦ That God’s principle of sowing and reaping applies to everyone.
♦ That all believers need to be rooted and grounded in a local church body of believers who practice New Testament Christianity, a continuation of the Acts of the Apostles.
♦ We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: 1) the home; 2) the church; and 3) the government.
♦ Human Sexuality: We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
♦ Divorce and Remarriage: We believe that God hates divorce and intends marriage to last until one of the spouses dies. Divorce and remarriage are regarded as adultery except on the grounds of fornication or desertion. God is forgiving and divorce and remarriage prior to coming to faith in Jesus Christ is not to be held against an individual. (Mal. 2:14-17; Matt. 19:3-12; Rom. 7:1-3).
♦ We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being.
♦ We believe that God has given the church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic group, and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
♦ We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God’s wealth entrusted to him, is obligated and privileged to support his local church financially through tithes and offerings.
